The Northern Illinois Conservation Club hosts an event for kids aged 5 to 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at its headquarters a half-mile south of Route 173 and a quarter-mile east of Route 83 in unincorporated Antioch Township. The event features hands-on firearms safety and review, trap shooting, archery target shooting, air rifle ranges, introduction to trapping and pelt display, duck call demonstration and instruction, dog training demonstrations and Safari Club International's Sensory Trailer.
