Six men have been charged after Aurora police said they solicited an undercover officer for sex.

Aurora Police Special Operations Group investigators conducted the reverse prostitution sting Thursday afternoon. All six were charged with solicitation of a sexual act after offering the officer money in exchange for sexual services, police said.

Charged in the sting are Aurora residents Carlos Huizar, 22, of the 3100 block of Village Green Drive; Rogelio Camacho-Moreno, 48, of the 400 block of North Avenue; Franco Benedicto, 35, of the 100 block of South LaSalle Street; and Robert Cerda, 21, of the 2400 block of Deerfield Drive.

Also charged are Rafael Velazguez, 38, of the 500 block of Heritage Drive, Oswego; and Robert R. Vardell, 46, of Williford, Arkansas.

Five of the men also had their vehicles impounded.

Spokesman Dan Ferrelli said police are not disclosing the location of the sting, which was aimed at street-level prostitution, to allow for future operations.

Each of the men has a 9 a.m. court date on Aug. 20 at Aurora Branch Court, 1200 E. Indian Trail Road.
