Author Dick Edwards Addresses Challenges of Caring for Aging Parents

ROMEOVILLE, IL (July 15, 2014) - Senior Star at Weber Place is pleased to host author and eldercare expert Dick Edwards from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 24 at 605 South Edward Drive, Romeoville.

Dick Edwards, author of Mom and Dad … Can We Talk?, wrote the book for the 53 million adult children in America, the sandwich generation of boomers who face aging parent and care concerns. In his book, Edwards provides stories and quotes from adult children who have journeyed with their parents through their later years as well as practical advice for initiating caring conversations.

Edwards will share vital information during the presentation based on his 20 years as administrator at a nationally recognized model for excellence in a retirement living and long-term health care community affiliated with the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He will help attendees focus on the communication needs of aging parents and children and how they can engage in positive, open dialogue. He also will discuss constructive connections that can be made between grandparents and grandchildren through life histories and discussions.

The first 25 people who RSVP will receive a copy of: My Grandparent, a Life and Time Journal. A door prize of the author's book, Mom and Dad … Can We Talk?, will be offered.
