St. Charles library to display student artwork

The St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave., will once again host "Art of the Imagination," the St. Charles Unit District 303 student art show, July 1-31.

For more than 25 years the library has been host to the show, which will feature artwork created by elementary through high school students, including drawings, paintings, weavings, photographs, sculptures and digital media.

The student art will be displayed in the Huntley Meeting Room, the art gallery on the mezzanine and both lobby display cases.

"The St. Charles Library Imagination Art Show is a great opportunity for the St. Charles K-12 Visual Art Programs to showcase student work. This show is just a small glimpse of the many talented students in our classes that we have the privilege to work with every week," said Rebecca Hubbs, art teacher at Wredling Middle School.

The District 303 art programs continue to build on 21st-century learning skills while incorporating Studio Habits of Mind.

An open house showcasing the student artists will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, in the Huntley Meeting Room. The public is invited to view the artwork at the St. Charles Public Library during the month of July.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (630) 584-0076, ext. 240.
