Obama's academic credentials are solid

Dushan Lipensky's letter of June 24 implying that President Obama is not educated demands a correction. President Obama received his undergraduate degree in political science with a specialization in International Relations from Columbia University in 1983. Columbia is an Ivy League school currently ranked ninth in the country by U.S. News and World Report.

President Obama also graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School (J.D.) in 1991, where he also served as president of the Harvard Law Review - a huge honor. Harvard Law School is ranked the second-best law school in America.

From 1992 until 2004 he taught constitutional law part time at the University of Chicago Law School, first as a lecturer, then as a professor. Lipensky attempts to cheapen the title of professor, but only manages to cheapen himself by calling himself a "professor of tennis."
