Geneva yoga studio kicks off Swedish Days with demo

Going To My Happy Place Yoga Demo Team, consisting of students, teachers and friends, arose bright and early on June 17 to be down at the Geneva Courthouse lawn at 5 a.m. for the official kick off to Swedish Days. Chicago TV cameras were on hand to broadcast the kickoff with the chambers Communications Director Laura Rush.

The Happy Place Demo Team showcased fun activities that take place at their Geneva studio to help promote the Geneva Chamber's 65th Swedish Days Festival. Using yoga poses, the group formed a pyramid and other poses at the Courthouse entrance and also on 3rd Street. Going To My Happy Place Yoga, at 316 Anderson Blvd., was very happy to participate in Geneva's most famous festival. The demo team began several years ago when students joined owner, Laurie Milbourn in taping episodes of yoga classes for a local TV station. From there, the team evolved into demonstrations in all types of settings, with the desire to spread the good word about Happy Place yoga and have a great time doing it. There is a rotation of students that participate so all can be involved.
