A suspended Lake County sheriff's deputy found not guilty of criminal obstruction of justice and solicitation of a sex act has lost his appeal of his firing.

In a news release, the sheriff's department says an arbitrator this month agreed the department was justified in firing Eric Francke. The arbitrator -- brought in when Francke appealed his firing -- agreed that the department had proved off-duty misconduct and that Francke had sought sex in return for money and then lied to investigators about it.
