Wisconsin men charged in decade-old Kane Co. sex assault

Two Wisconsin men are charged with sexually assaulting a victim less than 9 years old over a three-year span, according to court records.

Erik A. Galindo, 29, of the 2800 block of Coho Street, Fitchburg, and Edgar A. Galindo, 27, of the 3900 block of Marcy Road, Madison, face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the most severe charges.

Kane County Assistant State's Attorney Reagan McGuire of the Children's Advocacy Center, which investigates crimes against children, said Monday she could not comment on whether the Galindos were related, where in the county the crime occurred or if the Galindos know the victim.

Kane County sheriff's Lt. Pat Collins also could not specify where and when the Galindos were arrested and referred inquiries to the Child Advocacy Center.

Erik Galindo is accused of assaulting a boy from Jan. 1, 2000, when he was just 3, through March 12, 2004, when he was nearly 8, according to court records.

Erik Galindo is being held on $500,000 bail, meaning he must post $50,000 to be released while the case is pending.

He is charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault of a victim younger than 9, and seven counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under 13, according to court records.

Edgar Galindo is being held on $350,000 bail, meaning he must post $35,000 to be free while the case is pending.

He is charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a child less than 9, records show. He is accused of assaulting the boy from Nov. 21, 2001, through March 2014, records show.

The Galindos are due in court on June 27.
