GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Green Bay police say two traffic crashes this week involved drivers who were high on heroin and had children in the back seat.

Witnesses called police when they saw a woman swerving through traffic Monday afternoon. She narrowly missed two pedestrians after driving onto a sidewalk before crashing her car. Capt. Jim Runge says the 22-year-old driver was overdosing on heroin. An empty syringe was found in her car. And in the back seat was an 18-month-old child who was turned over to protective services.
