More than 150 compete in youth triathlon

The 14th annual Multisport Madness Triathlon Team Youth Triathlon Festival took place May 25 in Geneva, and brought more than 150 participants to one of the area's longest-standing youth triathlons.

The group's partnership with the Cadence Fitness and Health Center has allowed it to introduce the sport of triathlon to thousands of youths through the years.

In addition to Junior (age 6-10) and Senior (age 11-16) triathlons, the event also hosted an elite level race where 20 of the country's top Youth athletes participated in a draft legal format race.

Along with the youth races, the event included the first USA Triathlon Mixed Team relay event. Thirteen teams of four athletes raced a 100-meter swim, 3-mile bike and 1-mile run in a fun, energetic atmosphere.

The event featured a strong field including a team of top tier athletes from the Madison, Wisconsin area that resulted in a closely contested battle with a local team.

The local team consisting of Ryan Giuliano, Victoria Clinton, Alex Arman and Alex Lorenz took control on the run to claim the overall victory.
