District 118 board vacancy:

Wauconda Unit District 118 is seeking interested candidates who want to be considered to fill the school board vacancy created by the May 18 death of Thomas Weber. The appointee fill the seat until the next regular school board election April 7, 2015, when a successor will be elected to serve the remaining two years of the term. Applicants may send a letter outlining their interest and a resume to board President John Armstrong, 555 North Main St., Wauconda, IL 60084, jarmstrong@d118.org, or by fax: (847) 526-1019. This is due Tuesday, June 10, by 4:30 p.m. An applicant, at the time of appointment to the school board, must be: a United States citizen; at least 18 years of age; a resident of Illinois and District 118 for at least one year immediately preceding appointment; and a registered voter. The school board will review these applications and may invite candidates for an interview. The appointment will occur by Friday, July 4.
