at York: Barrington advanced to the sectional semifinals with a 25-20, 25-21 decision over the regional host Dukes on Wednesday.

The Mid-Suburban League champion Broncos meet Buffalo Grove in the second of Friday's sectional semis at Conant, at approximately 7:30 p.m.

at Schaumburg: Buffalo Grove earned a spot in the sectional semis by trouncing St. Charles East 25-18, 25-14.

It's the ninth straight season the Bison have won a regional.

Buffalo Grove got strong play at the net from Nikita Bulauski (3 kills, 5 blocks, 1 ace), Kevin Shanahan (6 kills), Athan Cruz (6 kills) and Matt Crabtree (4 kills, 1 block), while Zach Masciopinto had 9 digs, Tullio Ruscitti had 15 digs and Zach Scnittker doled out 11 assists.

Buffalo Grove meets Barrington in the second sectional semi Friday at Conant, starting at about 7:30 p.m.

at Westminster Christian: Top seed Lake Park advanced to the sectional round by topping Elk Grove 25-17, 25-8.

Top performers for Elk Grove (23-15) were Kevin Wicksstrom (8-12 hitting, 5 kills), Sam Ostling (6-7, 4 kills, 5 digs), Ray Kraus (12 assists), and Geoffrey Dybicz (1 block).

at Westinghouse: St. Patrick ended Leyden's season with a 25-15, 25-21 victory.
