Bri Dreschler went 3-for-4 with a double, and Grant's softball team pulled out a 5-4 win over second-seeded Prairie Ridge in a Class 4A regional semifinal at McHenry on Wednesday.

McKenzie Sancken was 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI for No. 3 Grant (24-9), which advances to Saturday's 11 a.m. regional final against the winner of today's game between top-seeded McHenry and No. 4 Grayslake North.

Winning pitcher Caitlyn Moran struck out 10, walked one and scattered 4 hits.

Mundelein 7, Waukegan 3: At Loyola, Maria DeVito went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, her 12th of the season, and the fifth-seeded Mustangs won their Class 4A regional opener over the 12th-seeded Bulldogs.

Abbey Rosenow (triple, 2 RBI) and Maggie Mahar (2 RBI) both were 2-for-3 for Mundelein (24-11), which advances to Saturday's 11 a.m. regional final against No. 4 Warren. Mundelein lost to Warren twice in North Suburban Lake Division action.

Karlee Busscher added a triple for the Mustangs, and Jamie Hemmer contributed a pinch-hit RBI single. Nicole Parney went the distance in the circle, striking out five.

Wauconda 9, Johnsburg 1: At Elmwood Park, Kayla Wedl struck out 15, scattered 4 hits and walked one, as the top-seeded Bulldogs won their Class 3A regional semifinal over the 17th-seeded Skyhawks.

Taylor McCarthy tripled twice and Paige Motley doubled twice for Wauconda (26-8), which advances to Saturday's 11 a.m. regional final against Resurrection.

Motley and freshman Alexandra Steffens (double) each went 3-for-4. McCarthy and freshman Sarah Ricci both were 2-for-4.

Antioch 15, Amundsen 5: At St. Viator, the fifth-seeded Sequoits got a triple from Amanda Costain and doubles from Hannah Skoog, Madeline Hart and Jillian Foote in their Class 3A regional opener.

Antioch (17-16) got 2 hits apiece from Hart (3 RBI), Foote (RBI) and Costain (2 RBI). Freshman Stephanie Bonaguidi pitched a five-inning complete game, striking out seven and allowing only 3 hits and 2 earned runs.

Lake Zurich 12, Glenbrook South 1: At Glenbrook South, winning pitcher Olivia Schneider helped herself with a double, and Maria Schroeder was 3-for-3 with 2 doubles, a triple, stolen base and 3 RBI for the third-seeded Bears in the Class 4A regional semifinal.

Lake Zurich (25-4) got a 3-for-3 effort from McKenna Larson (double, RBI), while Mallory Parsons homered, singled and knocked in 2 runs. Katie Brown was 2-for-2 with an RBI, and Carlee Parsons added a double and 2 RBI.

Grayslake Central 12, Guerin 0: At Grayslake Central, the Rams finished off their Class 3A regional semifinal, which was suspended Tuesday after three innings with the home team leading 10-0.

Grayslake Central got 2 hits apiece from Theresa Curtis, Reagen Radke and Teagan Truskowski (3 RBI).

Katie Strickland had a double, and Brandy Heraty had 2 RBI. Brittany Brown pitched 3 innings in improving to 13-8.
