Hanover Park police seek hit-and-run driver who hurt child

Hanover Park police are asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday that left a child injured.

Police said the child was riding a bicycle and attempting to cross the street in the 1300 block of Kingsbury Drive when the crash occurred about 5:12 p.m. Tuesday. The child, police said, suffered minor injuries.

The vehicle was described as a newer model, black Nissan Altima with a tinted rear window. The glass portion of the car's passenger side mirror was left at the scene after the collision, police said.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information regarding the vehicle is asked to call 911 and speak with a police officer.
