It took two overtimes but Conant's girls soccer team, seeded No. 2 in its own Class 3A sectional, survived Wheaton North 4-2 on Friday to claim the championship of the Rolling Meadows regional.

Bianca Madonia, Zoe Shoro, Drew Wentzel and Leah Celarek netted the goals for coach Jason Franco's Cougars.

Conant (14-4-2) advance to Tuesday's semifinals of their own sectional (6:30 p.m.) and will face the winner of today's 11 a.m. championship of the Geneva regional between No. 6 Glenbard North and the No. 3 Vikings.

Buffalo Grove 1, Palatine 0: With an assist from Kelli Zickert, Skylar Groth scored the game's only goal in the first half as the top-seeded Bison won the title of their own Class 3A regional.

Goalkeeper Georgette Topalis notched the shutout over Rachel Rhodes of Palatine.

Coach Pat Dudle's Bison advanced to the semifinals of the Libertyville sectional on Tuesday to face No. 14 Stevenson at 4:30 p.m.

The Patriots won their own regional with a 1-0 victory over No. 12 Libertyville.

Barrington 3, Mundelein 0: The No. 1 seeded Fillies scored all their goals in the first half to win their own Class 3A regional championship.

Carrie Madden, Jenna Szczesny and Annalise Avers had the goals while Szczesny and Kelsey Muniz had the assists.

Hannah Luedtke recorded the shutout for coach Ryan Stengren's Fillies, who advance to the semifinals of the Libertyville sectional on Tuesday and will face No. 3 Lake Zurich at 6:30 p.m. The Bears won the Warren regional with a 2-1 victory over the host and No. 7 Blue Devils.
