Register now for 'Donuts for Dad' 5K, kids fun run

There is nothing like a little exercise to begin your day and Sundays are no exception. With that in mind, the Dundee Township Park District is again hosting a 5K Race on Sunday, June 8. The "Donuts for Dad" 5K Run will begin at 8 a.m. and costs $20 to pre-register or $25 the day of the race.

In addition, there will be 1-mile and half-mile fun runs for children, 4 to 11 years old.

The 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at 8:45 a.m., the half-mile run at 9 a.m. both with a $10 pre-registration fee or $15 the day of the run.

Pre-registration for both the 5K Race and Fun Runs closes on Wednesday, June 4.

No further registration will be accepted until the day of the race. The race will start at the Dundee Township Visitor's Center in East Dundee; wind through the surrounding neighborhood streets and onto the Fox River Bike trail. Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners and to the top three men's and women's winners in each age category.

Spectators are encouraged to view the race from along the course and greet the winners at the Dundee Township Visitor's Center finish line in East Dundee. Volunteers to help with the race are also needed.

The sponsors for this year's race are Leith Heating & Cooling, Otto, Fox River Spa and Salon and Wireless Zone.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. To register, visit dtpd.org to download the registration form.
