Income tax hike is really permanent

Should any of us really be surprised that Governor Quinn is being dishonest with the citizens of Illinois? After all, Illinois' two most recent governors have gone to jail for corruption. We have come to expect dishonesty and corruption from our elected officials.

Governor Quinn speaks of making the "temporary" individual income tax increase permanent. The problem is, part of the increase is already permanent. The old tax rate was 3 percent. The current tax rate is 5 percent. Without any legislative action the tax rate becomes 3.75 percent. So we really have a permanent tax increase no matter what. I bet you didn't realize this. Did you? Why hasn't the media reported this?

More importantly, why hasn't Governor Quinn been truthful with the citizens of Illinois?
