St. Charles spa worker charged with prostitution

A worker at a St. Charles massage spa has been charged with prostitution after soliciting an undercover police officer, authorities said Thursday.

Police said the employee at Royal Spa, 504 E. Main St., offered to perform a sexual act for an additional cash payment after the undercover officer had purchased a massage, according to a news release.

The employee, Sun Hee Gribat, 67, of the 100 block of Lakeside Drive in St. Charles, was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the business. She was formally charged with one count of prostitution, a Class A misdemeanor.

Members of the St. Charles Police Department had been conducting covert compliance inspections at area massage businesses that evening.

Gribat posted the required 10 percent of a $1,500 bond. She is due in court June 12.
