Michael Jordan's 'The Shot' happened 25 years ago today

Michael Jordan hit a lot of memorable shots during his run with the Bulls.

One of his biggest happened 25 years ago today.

Jordan hit "The Shot" against the Cleveland Cavaliers to send the Bulls into the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Here's an excerpt from Daily Herald columnist Mike Imrem's column:

The winning shot was so characteristic of Michael Jordan, and his reaction so uncharacteristic.

"I had to let it all out," he said almost apologetically.

No wonder.

Not much was riding on the flight of Air Jordan's 18-foot, double-pump, all-or-nothing jump shot that gave the Bulls a 101-100 victory Sunday over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Oh, no, not much at all.

Here's a look back at the front of the Daily Herald Sports section recapping the game and a video of the shot.
