Hanover Park police to broadcast patrol shift on Facebook, Twitter

Hanover Park police will host a virtual ride-along Friday on Facebook and Twitter.

The department is part of a growing list of agencies -- Schaumburg police, for one -- broadcasting a patrol officer's shift on social media.

Hanover Park Officer Gordon Hendry will lead the ride-along from 6 to 10 p.m. Police also are expected to make an announcement about their social media initiative.
