Grayslake Central's softball team had to go extra innings Tuesday to pull out a 6-5 win over Crystal Lake Central in Fox Valley Conference action.
Brandy Heraty homered, singled and drove in 3 runs for Grayslake Central (15-7, 6-1), while Shelby White was 3-for-5. The Rams also got 2 hits apiece from Katie Strickland and Juliana Frusolone.
Brittany Brown pitched all 9 innings, striking out six, in getting the win.
Lake Zurich 6, Libertyville 4: Mallory Parsons homered and doubled for the visiting Bears in the North Suburban Lake game.
Lake Zurich (16-4, 5-2) also got 2 hits apiece from Vanessa DiVencenzo and Rachel Dawson, while Carlee Parsons and Amanda Guercio also hit doubles.
Libertyville - which on Monday hit the 20-win mark for the first time in 18 years - was held to 4 hits by Katie Malek and winning pitcher Olivia Schneider.
Wauconda 9, Antioch 5: Alyssa Wagner went 2-for-4 with a 3-run double, and the Bulldogs remained undefeated in North Suburban Prairie play.
Paige Motley also was 2-for-4 with a double for Wauconda (18-4, 8-0). Sarah Ricci doubled as well, while Jena Heck had a 2-for-4 game too with 3 runs scored. Winning pitcher Kayla Wedl (14-3) struck out 11 and did not walk a batter.
Jessica Pedersen had a double for Antioch (3-3 NSC Prairie).
Warren 7, Stevenson 4: Sabrina Trevino doubled twice and knocked in 3 runs, as the visiting Blue Devils won in North Suburban Lake action.
Warren (7-2 NSC Lake) also got 2 hits apiece from Jazmin Bonke and Shannon McKeon, each of whom doubled.
Stevenson (11-13, 2-5) trailed 7-0 against Blue Devils ace Jana Wagner until Abby O'Connor hit a 3-run triple in the bottom of the seventh. Dana Morgan followed with an RBI single.
The Patriots received 2 hits apiece from Lexi Yonkovic, Vera Pflugradt and Taylor Koenigs.
Mundelein 18, Lake Forest 0: Maria DeVito homered, doubled, singled and drove in 3 runs, as the host Mustangs cruised in North Suburban Lake action.
Mundelein (15-8, 3-5) pounded out 23 hits. Other Mustangs with big games at the plate included Maddie Zazas (3-for-4, double, triple, 3 RBI), Abbey Rosenow (3-for-4, 2 doubles, 3 RBI), Karlee Busscher (2-for-3, 2 RBI), Maggie Mahar (3-for-4, double, 2 RBI), Danielle Beelow (3-for-4, RBI), Hannah Bulgart (2-for-3, 3 RBI), freshman Jordyn West (2-for-2, double) and sophomore Victoria Avis (double).
Nicole Parney threw a five-inning complete game for the win, striking out seven.
Grayslake North 6, Woodstock North 3: Sarah Littleton went 3-for-4 for the Knights in the Fox Valley Conference game.
