Buddle, Westland power South Elgin triumph

South Elgin 17, East Aurora 0: Alyssa Buddle and Cassidy Westland made quick work of the Tomcats in a 5 inning Upstate Eight Conference win. Both smacked home runs for the Storm (9-11, 3-7) while Brianna Pena went 4-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI. Rachel Ziemba was 3-for-3 on the day with 2 runs and 2 RBI. The offense allowed Taylor Rees (3-0) to stay undefeated in the circle, who allowed 1 hit on 2 walks and 5 strikeouts in 5 innings of work.

Huntley 11, Woodstock North 1: The Red Raiders (12-7, 3-2) ran away with a Fox Valley Conference crossover win with 7 runs in the first inning of a 5 inning tilt. Both Tamara Funke (double) and Kateri Conklin (3 RBI) went 2-for-3 as the team sprayed 13 hits. Conklin (3-2) pitched 5 innings, allowing just 1 earned run on no walks, 2 hits and 8 strikeouts.

Bartlett 5, Lane Tech 0: Alexandra Morales' 2-hit, 3 RBI day fueled a nonconference win over the Indians at the Rolling Meadows tournament. Morales, Alyssa Nowak (2-for-4) and Kayla Haberstich (RBI) all pushed across doubles while pitcher Holly Pagan gave up just 6 hits on 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in a complete-game shutout.
