White Sox put Paulino on DL with rotator cuff

ARLINGTON, Texas - Chicago White Sox right-hander Felipe Paulino has been put on the disabled list because of right rotator cuff inflammation.

The move came Saturday, the day after Paulino allowed 13 hits and 10 runs in 3 2-3 innings against Texas in the series opener.

Right-hander Andre Rienzo was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. Left-hander Donnie Veal was sent outright to Charlotte, two days after being designated for assignment.

Before his four starts this year, Paulino (0-2, 11.29) hadn't pitched in the majors since ligament replacement surgery in his right elbow in July 2012, after going 3-1 with a 1.67 ERA in seven starts for Kansas City that season.

Right-hander Tommy Hanson, who signed a minor league deal with the White Sox two weeks ago, was assigned to Charlotte after extended spring training.
