Fox Valley Repertory - A place to call your theater

Fox Valley Repertory, now in its fourth season under the "Fox Valley Rep" name and 10th season in residence at Pheasant Run Resort, continues to engage nearly 50,000 theatergoing patrons in the Fox Valley area with its award-winning brand of heartfelt comedies and memorable musicals that make the community laugh, reflect and reconnect to moments in their own lives.

"We have an engaging theater season in progress, and are very excited to be giving our award-winning academy students a chance to shine in two of our productions this year," says Artistic Director John Gawlik. "The Fox Valley area will be amazed by the emerging talent from our year-round educational programs, and we're looking forward to featuring them in 'Cheaper by the Dozen' and 'Brighton Beach Memoirs.' "

Entertaining community

For 2014, we have created a fantastic lineup that includes two musicals and two plays, many new to our community. From the coming-of-age comedy "Cheaper by the Dozen," followed by the nostalgic story of The Andrews Sisters with "The Sisters of Swing," then to Neil Simon's heart-winning comedy "Brighton Beach Memoirs," to a holiday music revue "Christmas on Broadway," our 2014 season will uphold our tradition of bringing you an engaging professional theater experience. More and more local arts lovers continue to subscribe to the full season of shows by taking advantage of the lowest package prices in the area.

Other performances throughout the year include Chicago's tribute to Patsy Cline with the Weepin' Willows band, a tribute to legendary songwriting pianists Elton John and Billy Joel with The Piano Man, and a revue of the nifty '50s and '60s music with The Legacy Girls.

Educating youth

Fox Valley Rep is also home to the FVR Performing Arts Academy, dedicated to inspiring Fox Valley youth to explore their own lives through the performing arts. This award-winning academy features some of the Chicago area's most respected teachers, directors, actors and musicians. It is home to over 1,000 local youth students and offers the most extensive curriculum in the Fox Valley area: classes, camps, workshops, youth ensemble productions, and internship programs. Since 2006, the Performing Arts Academy has had more than 2,900 student enrollments, offered more than 250 individual classes in a variety of disciplines and presented 22 Youth Ensemble shows on the Pheasant Run Mainstage.

The critic-acclaimed Youth Ensemble features the top young talent of the Fox Valley area and is produced by kids, for kids. This year's musical productions will showcase more than 30 young actors between the ages of 12 and 18, and will include Disney's "Aladdin Jr." this summer and "Into the Woods Jr." this winter. Auditions are open to the public and reserved for the best and brightest talent of the area.
