District 54 students honored in PTA Reflections program

District 54 students Pamela Ivanova and Ashleigh Felde qualified for the national level in Reflections, a PTA writing and fine arts competition.

The theme of the 2013-14 Reflections Program was "Believe, Dream, Inspire." District 54 students were able to submit an entry in any of the following six arts areas: Film/video production, dance/choreography, literature, musical composition, photography and visual arts.

Pamela, a sixth-grade student at Fox, qualified in the film production category for her entry "Believe, Dream, Inspire - JDRF."

Ashleigh, a seventh-grade student at Frost, qualified in the photography category for her entry "Nature's Beauty."

Other District 54 students receiving honorable mentions at the state competition are:

Dance choreography: Aahana Shedge, "Incorporating Different Styles of Dance," grade five, Fairview; and Ashley Kramer, "River," grade seven, Frost.

Film/Video Production: Angelyn Koshy, "What I Did Last Summer," grade four, Link.

Literature: James Preucil, "Free," grade six, Collins.

Photography: Harlow Page, "The Wish," kindergarten, Lincoln Prairie; and Olivia Messerges, "Morning Breath," grade five, Lincoln Prairie.
