Late goal lifts Lake Zurich

Nicole Rasiarmos scored with 1:33 left to lift Lake Zurich's soccer team to a 1-0 win over visiting Lake Forest in a North Suburban Lake Division match Thursday night.

Rasiarmos finished a through ball from Danielle Ufheil, and the Bears hung on to improve to 5-1 overall. The Lake Zurich defense was led by Kaitlyn McCurley, Maggie Tuckey, Blair Coughenour, Meagan Bens, Allison Heinrich and keeper Eleanor Daleske (7 saves).

Antioch 9, North Chicago 0: Mikayla Abbeduto had 2 goals and 2 assists for the visiting Sequoits in the North Suburban Prairie contest.

Antioch (4-2, 2-0) also got goals from Alex Fracek, Haley Capek, Hannah Bohn, Megan Helgesen, Tess Furlong, Lauren Slack and Domanique Nelson. Furlong and Christina Michaels also had 2 assists apiece.

Melany Safeaniec had the shutout in goal for the Sequoits, who led 4-0 at halftime.

Lakes 1, Vernon Hills 0: Nicole D'Ambrose scored in the second half off an assist from Jessica Cipolla for the Eagles in North Suburban Prairie action.

Cara Jones made 8 saves in net to notch the shutout for Lakes (4-3).

Vernon Hills fell to 3-2-1.

Grayslake North 4, Dundee-Crown 1: Chelsea Olson scored eight minutes into the Fox Valley Conference match, off an assist from freshman Morgan Lyon, and the host Knights (4-2) never looked back.

Only seven minutes after Olson's strike, Grayslake North's Lindsey Allen finished a pass from Jocelyn Rodriguez. Sophomore Megan McCue scored early in the second half to stretch the lead to 3-0, as Maggie Fish earned the assist. Dundee-Crown got a goal before McCue set up fellow sophomore Sarah Myers for the game's final tally.

"We have been working on being consistent over the entirety of the game, and tonight we achieved that with strong efforts from each of our girls," Grayslake North coach Adam DeCaluwe said. "Our girls supported each other and worked as a unit together to keep constant pressure on Dundee-Crown, and that allowed us to attack right from the start."

Knights keeper Megan Davis was credited with 4 saves.

Warren 12, Zion-Benton 1: McKenna Hofflander scored 3 goals and Alliyah Parker and Hayden Yunker each had a pair of goals for the Blue Devils in the North Suburban Lake contest.

Warren (3-1-1, 2-0-1) also received goals from Kaitlyn Chomko, Lindsey Hardiman, Jordan Reilly, Daria Szczepanek and Abby Vrabel. Katharine Schwede, Hannah Sislow and Vravbel each had 2 assists.

Prairie Ridge 2, Grayslake Central 0: The visiting Wolves scored twice in the second half of the Fox Valley Conference match.
