Elgin's Bremer goes deep twice in victory

Elgin 6, West Chicago 2: Kelly Bremer (2-for-3, 3 RBI, 3 runs scored) went home run crazy as she belted 2 of the Maroons' 3 homers in an Upstate Eight win. Anna Eckholm (2-for-3, RBI) also went yard for Elgin (3-5, 2-0) and Jessica Rago (1-for-3) added 2 RBI. Jennah Perryman (2-1) pitched a complete game and was allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits, 3 walks and 12 strikeouts, including 6 in the final 3 innings.

Sycamore 9, Hampshire 8: A commanding 8-run lead for the Whip-Purs was erased late during a stunning, nonconference loss to the Spartans. Sycamore scored 6 runs in the middle innings but rallied for 3 in the seventh after being down 8-0 after 2 innings. Hampshire managed 13 hits and Sara Finn went 2-for-4 with 2 doubles while Ellie Lapi was 2-for-4 with a double.

Belvidere 8, Crystal Lake South 5: The Gators held a 4-3 lead after 3 innings but Belvidere rallied for 4 in the fourth to give CLS a nonconference loss. Hailee Massie (2-for-4, RBI) lined a double and Kim Woods was 2-for-4 at the plate.

St. Francis 10, St. Edward 0: The Green Wave (2-3, 1-1) were outhit 13-4 in a Suburban Christian Blue loss. Lindsay Zdroik (2-for-3) reached on a double and Emily Stapay and Devyn Ernst both singled.
