Grayslake North rallies by Stevenson
Nikki Livengood went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, Jessica Vaughn also doubled twice, and Grayslake North's softball team rallied for an 8-6 win over visiting Stevenson in nonconference action Wednesday.
Stevenson (2-8) led 5-2 before Grayslake North scored 6 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Mariah Gentile was 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI for Grayslake North. Kayla Switalla, winning pitcher Sarah Littleton and Jenny Moore also had a pair of hits for the Knights.
Taylor Koenigs (2-for-3) had a three-run double with two out in the fourth to put Stevenson up 5-2. Dana Morgan was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI for the Patriots.

The Mustangs sophomore pitcher helped her own cause by belting her second home run of the season and adding a triple, as the Mustangs won their nonconference road game in five innings.
Lauren Fairweather was 3-for-3 and Maddie Zazas went 3-for-4 to pace a 17-hit attack for Mundelein (5-4), which received 2 hits apiece from Parney, Karlee Busscher, Holly Petlak and Amanda Diaz. Zazas, Petlak and Maggie Mahar all doubled. Parney pitched all 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, while striking out two and not walking a batter.
Wauconda 4, Crystal Lake Central 1: Paige Motley's two-run triple broke open a scoreless contest in the top of the fourth inning, as the Bulldogs won the nonconference game to remain undefeated.
Winning pitcher Kayla Wedl (5-0) went the distance in the circle, striking out 10, not walking a batter and giving up 5 hits. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate. Alyssa Wagner was 2-for-3 for Wauconda (8-0).
Lake Zurich 9, Schaumburg 1: Brittney Pettinger was 3-for-3 with a triple and 2 RBI, and Maria Schroeder went 3-for-4 with a double to lead the Bears to the nonconference win.
Lake Zurich (7-1) received 2 hits apiece from McKenna Larson (triple) and Carlee Parsons. Rachel Dawson and Mallory Parsons added doubles, while Amanda Guercio contributed a single, stolen base and an RBI. Katie Malek picked up the win, throwing all 7 innings and allowing 5 hits. She struck out two and walked two.
Glenbrook South 12, Vernon Hills 1: Anna Cirone tripled and singled for the Cougars, who had only 4 hits in losing the nonconference game in five innings.
Vernon Hills fell to 1-8.
