Growth is seen in Illinois help-wanted ads

Illinois businesses placed help-wanted ads online for truck drivers, registered nurses and retail supervisors in March.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security says the state's businesses placed more than 195,400 Internet ads seeking workers last month. More than 85 percent of the ads were looking for full-time workers.

Department Director Jay Rowell says the job opportunities indicate the state's economy is improving.

The information comes from the Conference Board, an independent business membership and research group. The help-wanted figures include new, first-time online jobs and jobs reposted from the previous month on Internet job boards, corporate boards and smaller websites.

Help wanted demand grew in 25 of the last 27 months. The figures aren't seasonally adjusted.
