Cary-Grove 6, Boylan 1: After surrendering one run in the first inning, the Trojans' (4-3) Larkin Hanselmann shut the door the rest of the way, going the distance at home in nonconference action. While he struck out 8 while, allowing 5 walks and 3 hits as well, Hanselmann was supported on offense by Dean Christakes, who had a pair of singles and an RBI.

Huntley 1, Conant 0: Three pitchers combined for a 1-hit shutout for the Red Raiders (3-2-1) at home in a nonconference win. Nick Costantino (4 IP, 1 H, 5 BB, 6 Ks) got his first win of the year. Brandon Altergott scored the only run of the game off a Matt Sullivan single in the third inning.

College Baseball

Madison College 9, ECC 6: The Spartans' (4-9) comeback effort fell short, despite scoring 4 runs in the last two innings. Ryan Thomas (2B, RBI) and Brian Sobieski (2-for-5, RBI) led the way for the Spartans. Josh Loynachan took the loss after allowing 6 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits with 6 strikeouts.
