Police investigating suspicious death of Aurora woman

Aurora police are investigating the suspicious death of a 32-year-old woman who was found in her home on the city's far east side, authorities said Saturday.

The woman's mother asked police to check on her about 7:30 a.m. Saturday after her daughter failed to show up for work, police said in a news release.

When police entered the home, they found the woman dead. Police believe there was foul play after a preliminary investigation, the news release stated.

Authorities are focusing their investigation on a 35-year-old Aurora man who is in police custody and had a previous relationship with the woman, according to the news release.

The man's relative also asked police to check on him about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. When officers entered his home, also on Aurora's far east side, police found the man unconscious and breathing, according to the news release. Police are not releasing the name of the victim or the location of either home. Her family has been notified, authorities said.

There is no present danger to the public, police said.

An autopsy is pending at the DuPage County coroner's office.
