Burglar steals $260,000 in jewelry from Arlington Heights home

Arlington Heights police are investigating a residential break-in Wednesday in which burglars reportedly stole nearly $260,000 in watches and jewelry.

Police said the burglary occurred sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. on the 900 block of South Burton Place when the offender or offenders forced entry through a patio door.

According to police reports, among the items stolen were two Rolex watches valued at $44,000; one 4.6-carat diamond ring valued at $60,000; one Patek Phillipe watch valued at $50,000; two oval-shaped diamond cuff links valued at $4,000; various pieces of gold jewelry valued at a yet to be determined amount; and $100 cash.
