Company reps invited to legal review seminar

The Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with SmithAmundsen, LLC, invites company representatives to a legal review seminar from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday, March 20, at Stonebridge Country Club, 2705 Stonebridge Blvd., Aurora.

A continental breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. followed by the program at 8:30 a.m.

Admission is $59 for the general public and $39 for members of the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce.

This past year saw a number of legislative acts that impact business. Companies must be ready for the coming year by reviewing and/or updating their human resources and organization policies to reflect these changes.

The legal review will cover such diverse topics as concealed carry, medical marijuana, hands-free mobile phones, whistle-blower procedures, employee contracts and more.

Julie Proscia, partner with SmithAmundsen, LLC, will be on hand to provide guidance and information for companies of all sizes.

In addition, the chamber is calling on members to join the Ambassadors Committee. The Ambassadors is a group of active members that do great work for the chamber and for the community. Ambassadors volunteer their time to provide a crucial link between the chamber and its members. They ensure that all members receive the maximum benefit from their investment. They enjoy the rewards of making new contacts, strengthening relationships and accessing a wealth of information and resources. Their primary responsibilities are to help in the retention of members, the recruitment of new members and to assist at events. Email Jane E.
