Naperville CARES plans annual Cuisine for a Cause
Naperville CARES' 11th annual Cuisine for a Cause, a fundraising event featuring tastings from more than 20 of the best Naperville area restaurants, runs 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at a new location, Navistar corporate headquarters, 2601 Navistar Drive, Lisle.
Event sponsorships range from $300 to $5,000 and include reserved seating. Individual tickets are offered for open seating at $90 per person through March 31, $100 per person after. The ticket price includes food, drink and entertainment, and can be purchased online at napervillecares.org or by calling the CARES office at (630) 369-0200.
"Thanks to our generous sponsors, participating restaurants, wine and beer merchants, auction donors and guests, our first 10 events have raised over $1 million to benefit the programs of Naperville CARES," Executive Director Janet Derrick said.
"We want to thank Navistar for agreeing to host what we fondly call the largest cocktail party in Naperville. We have always gotten such positive feedback from our guests that they really enjoy Cuisine, and I am sure they will love our beautiful new venue."
Cuisine for a Cause will feature samples of signature dishes from more than 20 prominent Naperville area restaurants, live entertainment, open bar, wine and beer tasting, and auctions.
Keith Jones of Sayre & Jones Auctioneers again will bring his unique style to the event for a live auction.
"Cuisine for a Cause is such a popular annual event - for the past several years we have sold out with 500 attendees," said Karen Garlough, event chairman and owner of My Chef catering.
"And we have a very loyal following - 80 percent of our guests are repeat attendees. An exciting change this year will be our new venue - Navistar. They have a stunning atrium, which will be a dramatic backdrop for our evening of cocktails, signature restaurant foods and entertainment."
Sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels ranging from Friend of CARES Sponsorships at $300 to Platinum at $5,000. A local nonprofit, Naperville CARES has distributed more than $2.4 million in financial assistance to aid local families by providing $1.5 million in CARES funds and collaborating with area congregations, government and social services agencies to provide an additional $900,000 to meet the basic needs of local families in crisis since 1999.
In addition, through its Car Donation Program, CARES has supplied more than 550 donated vehicles to eligible households.
