Bolingbrook man charged in shooting

A Bolingbrook man was charged with shooting another man following an altercation Sunday morning, police said.

Bolingbrook police were called to the 300 block of South Schmidt for a man with a gun, police said in a release.

Two men began fighting, which prompted the initial calls. They fled in two vehicles heading west on Lily Cache Lane. Near Orchard, gun shots were fired from one vehicle and hit the passenger of the other vehicle, police said.

Bolingbrook police located a black Mercury SUV near Hywood and Delaware with four passengers, including the 18-year-old gunshot victim with wound to his lower leg, police said.

Minutes later, Romeoville police stopped a black Cadillac Escalade at Arlington and Dalhart containing Rolando Ibarra, 36, of Bolingbrook, who was identified as the shooter, police said. A .380 caliber Taurus handgun was also recovered.

Ibarra was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault, and reckless discharge of a firearm.

He's currently being held in the Will County jail on a $100,000 bond.
