Men, women invited to sign up for Geneva Chamber's '60 Men Who Cook' event
The Geneva Chamber of Commerce is looking for chefs for the sixth annual "60 Men Who Cook" event. Though it is still called "60 Men Who Cook," women are welcome and encouraged to sign up and enjoy the cooking fun.
It will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, at the Kane County Fairgrounds' Prairie Events Center in St. Charles. Cook and serve 300 samples of your favorite appetizer, side dish, main dish or dessert and encourage people to vote for your dish with their dollars at the event.
Each chef will be provided with a four-foot table, plates, napkins and forks and electrical outlets; bring your own extension cords. Chefs will provide all ingredients and whatever is needed to serve their dish such as crock pot, griddle, serving spoon, cooler, etc. Food must be prepared in a health inspected kitchen, with one available at the fairgrounds all day of the event. Space outside for grilling, chefs are responsible for bringing their own grills.
Best Display also is awarded by popular vote to the chef with the best table decorations/costumes. Balloons are not allowed. Choose a dish and display to promote your business.
The Health Department form will need to be filled out (where highlighted), signed and returned by Tuesday, March 18. You can fax the completed form to (630) 232-6083 or email to reclaimer@sbcglobal.net to the "Attention: Ron McCoy - Geneva Chamber of Commerce." It benefits the Geneva History Center, Geneva Lions Club, and Rotary Club of Geneva. For signup information, email reclaimer@sbcglobal.net.
