Victim identified in fatal Aurora crash

Aurora police have identified the 56-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a car Thursday morning while walking along Randall Road just south of Sullivan Road on the city's west side.

The victim, Frances E. Kuntz, whose last known address was on the 1800 block of Lilac Lane, suffered massive injuries as a result of the crash, police said. She died during surgery at an Aurora hospital.

In a written statement, spokesman Dan Ferrelli said Kuntz was walking north on Randall about 4:15 a.m. when she was struck by a 2003 Ford Taurus driven by a 65-year-old Aurora woman.

Police still are investigating, but Ferrelli said there were no signs of drugs or alcohol at the scene and no citations have been issued.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call investigators at (630) 256-5330.
