I just got home from a debate between the candidates for Lake County Board, Dist. 10.

It was an interesting exchange. One candidate repeated 10 times that "Illinois is broke." Another candidate self-promoted with every answer repeating the "The Daily Herald has endorsed me." In my mind, I found both of these men to be unacceptable to represent the people of the district.

My vote will go to Terri Voss who was the only candidate who mentioned reaching across the aisle to work collaboratively with others on the board. Terri's answers were well thought-out and her ideas realistic.

Terri mentioned that she will put the constituents of District 10 first in her deliberation as a board member while thinking of the entire county. If you want a board member who is hard working, intelligent, thoughtful, honest and experienced, then Terri Voss should be your choice for Lake County Board.

Mundelein residents were lucky to have Terri working for them and we will miss Terri's dedication and her preparedness working for the village. Now it's time for her to move on and serve the people of Lake County, District 10. I hope she is given the opportunity to serve.
