MUNSTER, Ind. -- Indiana has chosen four teams to bid on building and operating the Indiana portion of the Illiana Expressway.

The Indiana Department of Transportation said Monday the four can submit final bids when the state issues a formal request this summer. The proposed $1.5 billion expressway linking Interstate 65 near Lowell with I-55 south of Chicago still needs federal approvals.
