Church shouldn't pay for what it prohibits

To Berna Gingras (Feb. 24), your understanding of the First Amendment to the Constitution and the tenets of the Catholic Church are less than zero. The First Amendment in part states that Congress shall make no laws that establish religion nor prohibit the free exercise thereof.

The government cannot stop a religion from functioning. The Catholic Church prohibits abortion and limits birth control to very precise standards, but you would like the church to pay for the very things that it prohibits.

Dictatorship is frowned upon in this country; consider emigrating to Russia where the government can prohibit religious practices that you don't like.
