Exchange Club of Grayslake honors students

The Exchange Club of Grayslake seeks to honor outstanding students in the community who have exhibited excellence in academics and leadership.

This monthly program not only enhances career opportunities for those honored, it also promotes good citizenship, a desire for greater scholastic achievement, and the development of well-rounded personalities to other young adults in the community.

The winners for February are: Albert Yang of Grayslake Central and Shannon Myers of Grayslake North. The Young Citizenship Award went to Eric Dobek.

Monthly recipients receive a Youth of the Month Award Plaque for High School Students or Young Citizenship award certificate for middle schoolers; monetary gift of $200 for Grayslake High School students or $100 for Grayslake Middle School, St. Gilberts, Park Campus and Woodland East and West students.

Monthly High School winners will also have a chance to win the Youth of the Year Award and a $2,000 scholarship. Their applications will also be submitted to the district with the potential to win and to represent the district at nationals and a $10,000 scholarship.

Exchange, America's Service Club, is a group of men and women working together to make their communities better places to live through programs of service in Americanism, community service, youth activities, and its national project, The Prevention of Child Abuse.
