Pollwatcher training, credentials:

Pollwatcher credentials are available to qualified political organizations for the March 18 Primary Election, the Lake County clerk's office announced. All pollwatchers are required to have credentials issued by the Lake County clerk or the Illinois State Board of Elections in order to observe at voting sites. Pollwatchers may represent candidates, established political parties, qualified civic organizations and organized proponents or opponents of ballot propositions. The clerk's office will offer training on the rights and limitations of pollwatchers on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m. in the 10th Floor Assembly Room of the Lake County Administrative Complex, 18 N. County St., Waukegan. Requests for pollwatcher credentials from the clerk's office and registration for the class can be sent to elections@lakecountyil.gov or by calling (847) 377-2314.
