UIC takes down Milwaukee 80-58

MILWAUKEE - Kelsey Barlow scored 23 points and Illinois-Chicago snapped a 17-game losing streak, earning its first conference victory with an 80-58 win over Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Illinois-Chicago (6-23, 1-14 Horizon League) jumped to an early 9-4 lead, as Barlow scored seven consecutive points. The Flames continued to lead and stretched the advantage to double digits on a pair of free throws from Hayden Humes to make it 25-14. Milwaukee (16-13, 6-9) was unable to cut the deficit to single digits the rest of the way.

Barlow scored 18 of his points in the first half. Jordan Harks added 10 points for Illinois-Chicago.

The Flames shot 51.9 percent from the field, and made 19 of 23 free throws. The Panthers shot just 31.6 percent and made 16 of 26 attempts at the line.

Kyle Kelm led Milwaukee with 12 points. Jordan Aaron and Matt Tiby both added 10.
