Learn how to go green at home

The Schaumburg Park District's Spring Valley Nature Club is sponsoring the first in a series of green environmental programs. Andrea Vollf, principal of sustainable concepts and member of Schaumburg's Environmental Committee, will discuss techniques to save money and preserve the environment by going green at home. Attendees will learn to reduce power and water use, be self-sufficient and leave a smaller carbon footprint. A question and answer session will follow the program. The program is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Spring Valley Nature Center. Attendance is free, and refreshments will be served.
