Denver's late run tops WIU 75-67

Chris Udofia scored 21 points, gathered eight rebounds and had seven assists and Denver used a 12-5 run late to top Western Illinois 75-67 on Thursday.

With the teams tied at 62 and 4:08 left in the game, the Pioneers scored 10 of the next 14 points - including five from Chris Udofia and a trey by Brett Olson - then made 3 of 4 free throws inside of 46 seconds to escape with the win.

Denver (14-12, 7-4) led by three at the half. The Pioneers shot 66 percent, including 9 of 14 from beyond the arc. Bryant Rucker had 17 points, Cam Griffin added 15 and Nate Engesser came off the bench for 11 points.

Garret Covington led Western Illinois (9-17, 3-8 Summit) with 18 points. Michael Ochereobia had 14 points with eight boards, Jabari Sandifer added 13 and Adam Link chipped in 12.
