Kudos to those trying to save Brainerd

I find it interesting that a Cook Memorial Library board member would lead the charge to defeat the Brainerd Building referendum. I guess he's trying to save us the tax money spent on the new library. Had Brainerd been used to house the expanded library when we had the opportunity, we wouldn't have a vacant Brainerd Building on our hands. And we also wouldn't have that ridiculous new library. The one that is shoehorned into what used to be a park has very little parking and has a book drop-off difficult to maneuver because it's placed in the exit lane of the parking lot.

When I want to use a nice library I drive to the Fremont library in Mundelein. Plenty of parking there.

I commend those trying to save the Brainerd - my freshman year was there, and it's a real piece of Libertyville history. You guys face an uphill battle, with vocal opponents who have no room to talk.
