Great, good and not so much on snow removal

The great, good, terrible ... sounds like a horror movie, which most of this is. Let's start with the great.

That being the Warren Township Highway Department. This crew will do a very good job when it snows. It starts before the snow hits. They spray a so-called beet juice down on the road to help melt the snow and ice before the snow hits.

When it starts, they attack by plowing and spreading salt plus sand to get a head start to keep our roads clear for us. They do not wait to let it get ahead of them.

The good is the Lake Highway Department. They do a good job an the roads, which will be worked on all the time to keep us safe.

The terrible is the Illinois Highway Department. I did not see one plow out during the snows we had this year until it was too late to keep ahead of the snow. So guess what? Stuck cars, spinouts, wrecks, cars at a standstill is what you got.

After the snow is gone, you come out at a time too late to do anything except sit in the line of cars and go nowhere like them, because you did not start early like Warren Township did.

I drove (I think that is what I did) down Rts. 45, 60, 83, 176, 137, 22, 21 and 120 and what I plus others saw was pains in the rear end. Those roads were a complete mess. The only road that was good was Buckley between Rt. 21 and Rt. 41.

I see you drive down the roads with your plows up when there is snow on

the roads. Why don't you push it out of the way?

Maybe you guys can go over to Warren Township an let them show you how

to move the snow!
