Returning to college? Check out Harper's Fast Track program

Though she earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering in her native Bolivia, Cecilia Marchant knew landing a good job in the U.S. would likely require another higher education credential.

Less than two years after she moved to Des Plaines, Marchant is on the verge of graduating from Harper College not only with multiple credentials, but a full-time position at a leading global logistics firm.

Marchant relied in part on Harper's accelerated Fast Track adult program to finish her goal. This month, the college will host a free informational meeting focused on building similar success stories. The session will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, in Room 122 of the Harper Professional Center, 650 E. Higgins Road, Schaumburg. An overview of Harper's degrees and certificates will show prospective adult students that it's possible to gain skills, earn credentials and succeed in today's competitive employment market while leading an already busy life.

"Fast Track helped me finish quicker," said Marchant, who in May will receive her Associate in Applied Science with a specialization in supply chain management. "It all worked out great and I'm excited about everything to come."

Harper's Fast Track program offers an accelerated Business Administration associate degree and accelerated certificates in advanced accounting bookkeeper/clerk, general and advanced management, human resource management and supply chain management. The college overall boasts more than 50 degree programs.
