ATM customer robbed in Arlington Heights

A customer retrieving cash from an ATM at a Chase bank branch at 43 E. Golf Road in Arlington Heights was robbed about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The victim had placed a debit card into the ATM, entered the PIN number and placed the debit card back in the vehicle when the robber approached from behind the vehicle on the driver's side.

The robber pointed an unidentified object at the victim, took money from the ATM and fled in a dark-colored SUV.

The robber was described as a male with light brown skin, about 20 years old, wearing a black hoodie, black knit hat and winter gloves
