Barr, Carmel top Wauconda

Michael Barr scored 13 of his game-high 15 points in the first half, as Carmel Catholic's boys basketball team earned a 61-42 nonconference win over visiting Wauconda on Wednesday night.

Chris Duff added 11 points for Carmel (21-6), which jumped out to a 15-10 lead after one quarter and was up 31-14 at halftime.

Billy Kirby chipped in 9 points on three 3-pointers for the Corsairs, Jack George had 8 points and Nickai Poyser scored 7.

Wauconda (13-10) received 11 points from Ben Carlson and 8 apiece from Brian Malisheski and Dion Head.
